Deciphering the initial products of coal during methanogenic bioconversion: Based on an untargeted metabolomics approach

Although the process of microbial degradation coal to produce biomethane has got much attention from many research works, products profiles at initial stage methanogenic bioconversion are not clear yet. In this study, five coal-degrading bacterial strains (CD1, CD10, CD20, CD24, and CD25) a community were isolated identified. Among them, CD1 CD24 belong Paenibacillus sp., CD10 CD20 Bacillus CD25 belongs Stenotrophomonas sp. After biotreatment lignite bituminous coal, kinds newly produced compounds 33 45, respectively. Metabolomics analysis showed that large number alkane heterocyclic aromatic after by bacteria, most had been in hydroxylated or acylated manner, indicating treatment enhanced bioavailability coal. Some alkaloids biosurfactants also detected aforementioned products, such as glycerophosphocholine, proveratrol A, B, surfactin, etc. These metabolites may play an important role solubilization during This study added understanding complicated metabolic enabled effective production with appropriate strategies.
